Really useful, but I did spend a month or two learning the basics elsewhere. It does shine for testing conjugations, etc; but could do with a basic tutorial and a few bells and whistles. I am enjoying it and I expect to use it a lot
I gave the matter a little thought before buying this app. I know it's only 4 bucks so I didn't mind that. I simply didn't want to be disappointed by a piece of junk. But, lo to my very great surprise and pleasure, I found this app absolutely amazing. I read how some would like sound to go with the app. What I'd like and would happily pay for is an app addressing other parts of speech, preps, conjunctions, adverbs, etc. Thanks, keep the good work coming.
I really like this app, the fun way to learn about Old English.
5 stars, especially the grammar testing is where this app really shines. I would like to see some more complex OE words in future versions, the lexis currently being tested is rather basic. More poetic vocab and the ability to add your own items would be fantastic. So would a testing timer. Some of the use of macrons is inconsistent. Thanks to the dev!
I think audio pronouncing the words would be amazing. I generally can see how to pronounce but I also agree dotting the 'y's and adding the 'eth' (đ) symbols would be useful. I don't think it's worth the money, you could easily see similar apps for free
A very nice tool with a lot of data
This app is very useful as far as it goes, but since it is for the beginner, the following changes would perfect it: marking of long vowels; marking of "dotted" c and g; paradigms for pronouns.
Pronoun paradigms would be great! I also liked the black background better, would be nice to be able to change it manually. Anyway it's still great.
Maybe the addition for pronoun paradigms would be helpful to others?
Definitely worth the $2. Great for vocab but also super helpful for learning paradigms (and significantly more engaging than just memorizing a chart).
